Two people were arrested and charged last Wednesday after allegedly being found in a motel room with guns, drugs and cash.

Around 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday, Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a room at the Motel 6 on Edgewood Road in Edgewood for a report of a disorderly person.

When they arrived, deputies spoke with a man who appeared to be breaking into the hotel room; he told deputies it was his room and that he was concerned for the well-being of his girlfriend, who was inside the room with her baby. Based on the situation, deputies forced their way into the room, where they found the girlfriend unconscious on a bed and her baby in a nearby crib.

Patrol deputies at the scene called in the Harford County Narcotics Task Force to assist with the investigation. Together, detectives and patrol deputies saw illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and firearms in plain sight throughout the room, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

A search warrant was obtained for further investigation and task force detectives found two handguns, a number of long guns, more than $40,000 in cash, approximately 1.1 pounds of marijuana, two scales and drug paraphernalia, according to the news release.

Arrested and charged were Peter D. Bogusko, 31, and Taylor K. Armstrong, 27, both with a last known address in the 1700 block of Edgewood Road in Edgewood.

They were taken to the Harford County Detention Center where, as of Monday morning, Bogusko was being held on $10,000 bail and Armstrong on a $100,000 bail.

During his bail review Friday afternoon before retired Harford District Court Judge John Dunnigan, Bogusko said he returned to Maryland two months ago from Montana, where he had lived for about 10 years.

When Dunnigan asked him why he came back, Bogusko said he had broken up with his girlfriend.

In response to another question from Dunnigan, Bogusko said he had been in court in Montana for "criminal mischief."

Bogusto's parents, who were in the gallery, said their son could stay with them if he made bail. Dunnigan then reduced Bogusto's original bail from $25,000 to $10,000.

Armstrong's 16-month-old child was unharmed and subsequently placed with a family member through Child Protective Services, the Sheriff's Office said.
