Bel Air golfers win again, mark third straight unbeaten season

Getting in one final match before the Harford County Tournament begins, Bel Air golfers took their talents to Backcreek Golf Club in Middletown, Del., Tuesday.

The Bobcats shot 208 to beat Rising Sun, 229, and host Bo Manor, 251.

"This win marks the third consecutive undefeated regular season for the Bobcats," Bel Air Head Coach Ryan Doyle said. "Some really, really great golf has been played by a number of players in the program over the past couple of years and I am proud to have been their coach and to see them play the game so well, and to play it the right way."

One of those players, Tyler Newton, fired a match-best 34 to lead the Bobcats. Cody Smith shot 40 and Connor Small finished with 42. Kevin Morrissey, 43, and Nick Daristotle, 49, also scored for Bel Air.

Derek Adams led Rising Sun with a 42 and Hunter Tollinger's 44 was tops for Bo Manor.

Cougars beat Hawks on tie-breaker

At Geneva Farm Golf Course, North Harford and Fallston each shot 214, to force a tie-breaker. C. Milton Wright also played and shot 231.

The playoff started with Austin Wilcox of North Harford against Zach Billings of Fallston. Both shot 41 in the nine hole match.

Both golfers shot par on the first playoff hole. On the second playoff hole, Fallston's Dylan Wolf (37) scored par to beat North Harford's Sam Van Valkenberg's (42) bogey.

A great match in steady winds, according to Hawks Coach Nick Panos.

Other golfers scoring for Fallston were Dayton Ogrysko, 43; Everett Cox, 46; and Tommy St. Clair, 47.

North Harford's additional scorers were Bobby Gay, 41; Josh Nagengast, 43; and Kyle Mansberger, 47.

CMW's scores were Matt Smith, 43; Shawn Wierzbowski, 43; Amelio Rotunno, 46; Carter Poulsen, 47; and Mike Stefanides, 52.

Rams upend Panthers

In a dual meet at Furnace Bay Golf Course, Edgewood pulled off a mild upset of Perryville, 236-248.

Edgewood's scoring was led by Connor Johnson's 42 and Ethan Bowlin's 43. Others scoring were Evan Shuck, 45; Wyatt Ortman, 48; and Nathan Pratt, 58.

Tyler Pollitt led the Panthers with 36, while Kyle Ciaccia shot 42. Others were Eli Orzechowski, 56; Robbie James, 57; and Ben Carlyle, 57.
