The Bel Air girls volleyball team had a chance to share the UCBAC's Chesapeake (upper) Division crown, but it had a tough task to achieve it – beat undefeated Rising Sun.
The visiting Tigers (12-0 league) had their own agenda and displayed it in an 3-0 sweep Wednesday. The scores were 25-15, 25-19 and 25-15.
The sweep allowed Rising Sun to complete a perfect regular season in which it didn't lose a set. The Tigers were also undefeated last season.
Bel Air (10-2) stats were not available.
Huskies edge Warriors
Patterson Mill (11-3) overcame a 2-0 deficit at Havre de Grace (3-11) to win, 3-2, in Susquehanna (lower) play Tuesday.
The Warriors won the first two sets, 25-16 and 25-23, but Patterson Mill rolled off the next three wins by scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 15-6.
Leading the Huskies were Kenna Garman, 16 kills, six aces and 13 digs; Kyrsten Leland, six kills, two assists, four aces, two digs and five blocks for point; Sarah Alders, three kills, three digs and three blocks for point; Emily Ratliff, four kills, three aces and three digs; Hannah Roussey, one kill, 15 assists, one ace and one dig; and Morgan Allen, one ace and five digs.
Cobras sweep Elks
Harford Tech (4-8) traveled to Elkton to post its 3-0 Chesapeake win. The scores were 25-23, 25-21 and 25-19.
Tech leaders were Bailee Richman, three kills; Jenna Hathazi, four aces, one block, two kills and nine assists; Karizma Hockaday, seven kills; Amber Olson, two aces, four kills and two blocks; and Alicia Yeager, one ace, seven kills and three blocks.
Other scores
In Susquehanna play at Edgewood, the Rams (8-6) lost in five sets to North East.
Edgewood won the first set, 25-19, but dropped the next two, 20-25 and 23-25. The Rams then won set four, 25-20, forcing the fifth set.
North East won the deciding set, 16-14.
Also in Susquehanna play, Aberdeen (7-7) swept visiting Joppatowne (0-14), 3-0.
