Edgewood, Bel Air, Fallston among girls volleyball winners Monday

Girls volleyball teams were back on the court Monday with near end of season UCBAC division matches on the schedule.

Among the winners, Edgewood (8-5) visited and beat Aberdeen (6-7), 3-1, in Susquehanna Division action.

The scores were 22-25, 25-8, 25-15 and 25-15.

Leading Edgewood were Frances Calzada, 11 kills, four aces, one block; Tamiya Dean, eight aces, six kills, one block; Julia Gatch, six kills, three aces; and Bianca Tucker, 24 assists.

Bobcats beat Cobras

Bel Air continued to win in Chesapeake play, beating host Harford Tech, 3-1. Scores were 24-26, 25-9, 28-26 and 25-12.

Bel Air was led by hitters Taylor White (14 kills, two blocks) and Kaitlin Cassaday (11 kills, three service aces, two blocks). Libero Brianna Karayinopulos had six service aces and 16 digs, while Mariah Thomas and Lena Sierocinski combined for 12 blocks. Setter Anna Wojciechowski had 22 assists and four service aces.

Tech (3-8) leaders were Karizma Hockaday, three aces, two kills; Amber Olson, three kills, one block; Alicia Yeager, one ace, six kills; Bailee Richman, two kills, one block; and Jenna Hathazi, four aces, five kills, three assists.

Cougars beat Mustangs

The Fallston Cougars (8-4) closed their regular season with an 3-0 sweep of visiting C. Milton Wright (1-10) in Chesapeake play. Scores were 25-18, 25-10 and 27-25.

The Cougars were led by Rachel Hart's seven kills and four blocks. Brittany Callahan added six kills and three aces and Ivey Wagner had nine digs. Kendall Brajevich put up 19 assists.

Panthers sweep Mariners

Perryville (11-2) stayed atop the Susquehanna Division standings with a 3-0 sweep of host Joppatowne (0-13).

Game scores were 25-12, 25-7 and 25-8.

Perryville's leaders were Kylie Shiflett, 11 service points, eight aces, five kills; Megan Davidson, 13 service points, eight aces; and Nicole DiGiambattista, 14 service points and 10 aces.
