Three Harford girls lacrosse teams advance to next round of playoffs with Wednesday wins

Three of four Harford County girls lacrosse teams involved in region playoff action Wednesday posted wins to move on to Friday's next round.

Bel Air won in Class 3A-4A and North Harford and Edgewood both advanced in 2A-3A action. Aberdeen, which also competed in 2A-3A play, lost to end its season.

Bel Air's win came at home in 3A-4A South, section I action, where the Bobcats (9-4) doubled up the score on visiting Perry Hall, 18-9.

Shannon Williams and Anna Farley shared high scoring honors for the Bobcats with four goals each.

Bekah Riley added three goals, Sam Keesey tallied two and single goals were scored by Emily McQuay, Morgan Hollenback, Jenna Signorelli, Kami Holt and Karsyn Shek.

Julia Henry dished out two assists and single assists came from Williams Lexi Strobel and Keesey.

Bel Air played two goalies, with Sydney Matthews recording seven saves and Molly Loughlin making three.

The Bobcats will play at top seed Dulaney on Friday.

Hawks spank Dundalk

North Harford also won at home Wednesday, beating Dundalk, 15-1, in 2A-3A North, section II play.

Maria Auth and Ashley Hedrick led the Hawks (8-7) with two goals and an assist each.

Megan O'Donnell and Julsi Cameron both had a goal and assist, while single goal scorers were Maggie Galloway, Reilly Saneman, Claire Macatee, Kirsten Gryzbowski and Shelby Mitchell. Alexis Susa added one assist.

North Harford will play at Patapsco on Friday.

Rams beat Tigers

Edgewood made it a sweep of Harford home team wins Wednesday, knocking off visiting Rising Sun.

The Rams (6-7) won the 2A-3A North, section II game, 13-5, after leading 6-4 at the half.

Nicole Wiland led the Edgewood scoring with four goals, while Jordyn Carll, Alyssa Rankin, Caitlin Rankin and Paige Graff each scored two goals. Allison Bomhardt added a single goal.

Alyssa Rankin had two assists and single assists were credited to Bomhardt and Wiland.

Edgewood goalie Omari Hernandez-Rivera finished with 13 saves.

The Rams will play at top seed C. Milton Wright on Friday.

Aberdeen ousted

Aberdeen (2-10) was eliminated from 2A-3A North, section II play with an 11-8 loss at Patapsco. Details were not provided.
