John Carroll, Havre de Grace pick up girls lacrosse wins on slow Monday

A couple of girls lacrosse games avoided the weather Monday night in Pylesville and Havre de Grace where non-league and league games were contested.

In Pylesville, North Harford (4-6) battled John Carroll (6-4) in a non-league game, won by the Patriots, 18-9.

The Patriots had four players with multiple goals, led by Kelley Reilley's four goals. Kara Klages added three goals, while Emory Gaeng and Caroline Sdanowich scored two apiece.

The Hawks also had a pair of multiple goal scorers. Maria Auth and Megan O'Donnell (one assist) had three goals each.

Warriors beat Panthers

In Havre de Grace (5-0 league, 6-1 overall), the Warriors turned back Perryville (4-1, 5-2), 14-11, in UCBAC Susquehanna Division play.

Both teams had a five-goal scorer. Tailor Diaz for Havre de Grace and Taylor Poore for Perryville.

Havre de Grace goalie Lauren Butler had nine saves and Perryville keeper Cali Tyson made eight saves.

Mustangs beat Cougars

C. Milton Wright joined Bel Air at the top of the UCBAC Chesapeake Division girls lacrosse standings with its 18-7 win over visiting Fallston Thursday.

The Mustangs (3-0 league, 5-3 overall) were propelled to an early 6-0 lead, but led by just two, 7-5, at the half.

"Fallston really showed some resilience after going down 6-0," Mustangs coach Brent Ritz said. "We really focus on playing quality lacrosse throughout games and we knew we weren't happy with our effort and work rate."

Haley Alexander scored six goals to lead the Mustangs offense and Haley Matthai added five goals. Julia O'Mara and Jordan Landsman netted three goals apiece and Kendall Little scored one.

Matthai added four assists and O'Mara had two. Alexander also had an assist.

Jesse Brennan led the Cougars (0-2, 3-5) with three goals, while single goals were scored by Logan Gasior, Katie Donhauser, Meghan Muldoon and Krista Cooper.

Maddie Hurlburt added two assists and Cooper had one.

In the CMW goal, Katelyn Miller and Skye Graham combined for two saves and in the Fallston goal, Lexi Roberts made seven saves and Erika Wright had eight.

Hawks edge Huskies

North Harford (1-2, 4-5) edged host Patterson Mill (2-1, 3-7), 9-8, in Chesapeake Division play. The Hawks led 4-3 at half.

Meghan O'Donnell scored four goals to pace the Hawks and Maria Auth tallied two goals.

Patterson Mill scoring was led by EJ Karwatka, four goals, and Kaley Thompson, three goals.

In goal, Abby Smith had seven saves for Patterson Mill and Jodi Enfield had four saves for North Harford.

Warriors beat Eagles

Havre de Grace (4-0, 5-1) traveled to Bo Manor and won easily, 17-3, in Susquehanna Division play.

Rachel Wilson and Tailor Diaz led the scoring with three goals each, while Caraline Cypher, Julie Hagis, Taylor Johnson and Alexa Santiago scored two goals apiece.

Single goals were scored by Ashley Burkhardt, Rileigh Cypher and Katelyn Berger.

Goalie Lauren Butler finished with eight saves.

Tigers beat Eagles

In Susquehanna play, Aberdeen (1-2, 1-6) was beaten by visiting Rising Sun, 19-10, Thursday.

Alex Jones had five goals and Taira Baldauf had three to pace the Aberdeen scoring. Amber Steinhilber and Brianna McMillian also scored goals and Eagles goalie Jasmine Figueroa had 14 saves.

Cobras beat Rams

Harford Tech (1-1, 6-1) won over visiting Edgewood (0-4, 5-4), 20-11, in Chesapeake play.

Becca Williams poured in six goals to pace the Cobras and Courtney Poole added five goals. Sam Volz and Bethany Bishop (three assists) contributed three goals apiece, while Tori Arcilesi had two goals and three assists.

Jenna Cianelli chipped in with a goal and assist and Amanda Weir had one assist.

Tech played two goalies with Bryana Wyatt making seven saves and Tori Grubowski making eight.

Patriots beat Bobcats

In an non-league game at Bel Air (6-2), John Carroll beat the Bobcats, 16-11.

Abby Hormes, Kelley Reilley and Caroline Sdanowich scored three goals each to lead the Patriots (5-4), while Parker Day scored twice.

Single goals were scored by Charolette Haggerty, Brigette Lutche (assist), Emory Gaeng, Kara Klages (assist) and Ellie Marindin. Anya McSorley, Alice Cumpston and Mary Kate Gerety added an assist each.

Sam Keesey led the Bobcats with five goals and an assist, while Anna Farley had three goals and an assist.

Bekah Riley (two assists), Lexi Strobel and Katy Higinbothom had single goals. Julia Henry added four assists.

John Carroll played two goalies with Katy Sharretts making four saves and Lauren Ey making two.

Bel Air also played two keepers with Molly Loughlin making seven saves and Sydney Matthews making three.

Other score

Joppatowne (1-3, 1-4) lost at Perryville, 24-5, in Susquehanna play.
