Patterson Mill, HdG collect girls conference girls lacrosse wins Wednesday

Patterson Mill overcame a halftime deficit Wednesday to deal visiting Harford Tech its first loss in girls lacrosse play. The UCBAC Chesapeake Division contest was played at Bel Air's turf, because of the light rain that fell throughout the day.

The Huskies (2-0 league, 3-3 overall) won the game, 17-11, after trailing 10-8 at halftime.

EJ Karwatka powered the Huskies into the win column with six goals and two assists. Sam Herman added three goals and one assist and Megan Wedekind finished with two goals and three assists.

Kaley Thompson added two goals, Kate Lamberti had a goal and two assists and Brianna Collins contributed a goal and an assist. Sarah Alders and Olivia Beil also scored goals.

Courtney Poole's three goals paced Tech (0-1, 3-1). Bethany Bishop (one assist) also scored three goals. Sam Volz added two goals and an assist, while single goals were scored by Becca Williams, Amanda Weir and Jenna Cianelli. Tori Arcilesi had one assist.

Patterson Mill goalie Abby Smith made one save and Tech keeper Bryana Wyatt had 13.

Warriors beat Tigers

The Havre de Grace girls lacrosse team won its fourth straight game Wednesday, but needed overtime to do it in a Susquehanna Division game.

The Warriors (3-0 league, 4-0 overall) battled host Rising Sun to a 6-6 tie in regulation and then won in overtime, 9-7.

Taylor Johnson had the hot scoring hand for the Warriors, pumping in five goals. Tailor Diaz and Alexa Santiago added two goals each.

The Warriors played two goalies, with Caraline Cypher making six saves and Lauren Butler making five.

Patriots edged at home

On an extremely light day for girls lacrosse play, John Carroll (3-2) hosted McDonogh in IAAM A Conference play and fell, 8-6, Thursday.

Caroline Sdanowich powered the Patriots scoring with three goals, while single goals were scored by Emory Gaeng, Kara Klages and Mary Kate Gerety.

Gerety and Parker Day each had an assist. Patriots goalie Katy Sharretts had a busy day with 15 saves.
