The Patterson Mill girls lacrosse team made its season debut Wednesday at Perry Hall, but it didn't go as the Huskies may have hoped.
The Huskies were on the short end of an 8-6 score in a non-league game between the two. The Huskies trailed at the half, 5-4.
Nina Urban led Patterson Mill with two goals, while freshman Kaley Thompson added a goal and two assists. EJ Karwatka, Megan Wedekind and Kate Lamberti also scored for the Huskies.
Sam Herman and Gabby Chenworth had assists. Patterson Mill goalie Abby Smith registered 10 saves.
Mustangs beat Dulaney
C. Milton Wright evened its record at 1-1 with a 9-7 win over visiting Dulaney.
Haley Matthai scored three goals to lead the Mustangs. Julia O'Mara and Moriah Snyder added two goals each, while Kendall Little and Haley Alexander had single goals. Matthai and O'Mara had assists.
CMW played two goalies - Katelyn Miller with four saves and Skye Graham with two. The Mustangs led at the half, 5-4.
Cobras blank Indians
The Harford Tech girls lacrosse team won its second straight game in as many days Tuesday, shutting out visiting North East, 17-0, in non-division play.
Becca Williams poured in six goals and assisted on another to lead six Tech (2-0) scorers. Courtney Poole and Bethany Bishop each had three goals and two assists, while Tori Arcilesi and Megan Culbertson scored two goals apiece.
Sam Volz added a goal and two assists and Amanda Weir had one assist.
The Cobras top defensive performance went to Ally Piercy, Coach Emma Little noted.
Patriots get win in OT
John Carroll posted a win Tuesday, beating host Mt. de Sales, 9-8, in overtime.
Caroline Sdanowich had the best game among Patriots, scoring four goals, gaining two draw controls, causing three turnovers and scooping five ground balls.
Kara Klages added three goals, an assist and five draw controls and Emory Gaeng scored two goals.
Patriots goalie Katy Sharretts finished with nine saves.
Bobcats edged in opener
Bel Air dropped its opener, losing at Towson, 10-9.
Goal scorers for the Bobcats were Shannon Williams and Bekah Riley, each with two, while Julia Henry, Morgan Hollenback, Emily McQuay, Anna Farley and Katy Higinbothom tallied single goals. Riley and Higinbothom also had assists.
Hollenback led the defense with five ground balls and Williams pulled in four draw controls.
Goalie Sydney Matthews finished with 11 saves.
