Tech, CMW post girls basketball victories on slow night

Harford Tech led a light girls basketball schedule Tuesday night, hosting and beating Havre de Grace, 55-30, in an UCBAC Susquehanna Division game. The Cobras led at the half, 31-16.

Jonna Maddox had an all-around good game for Tech, scoring 18 points, grabbing five rebounds, making six steals and assisting six baskets.

Brianna McAllister added a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds. She also had eight steals. Trinitee Grant finished with 11 points.

The win kept Tech (6-1 league, 8-3 overall) on the heels of Rising Sun (7-0, 11-2) for the division title.

Havre de Grace fell to 3-4 in league and 6-6 overall.

Mustangs edge Patriots

C. Milton Wright (12-2) defended its home court with an 60-58 non-league win over John Carroll (4-10).

The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead, but John Carroll stayed close behind Ashley Hunter and Savannah Simmons. Each scored 19 points in the loss.

CMW's Emma Hahner led all scorers with 28 points. Ayreka Browning added 16 points.

John Carroll had an opportunity at the end of the game to tie, but the shot came up just short.

Other score

Joppatowne (2-5, 2-11) posted a Susquehanna win, 39-30, over visiting North East (2-3, 4-8). Stats were not provided.
