Aberdeen, Bel Air remain unbeaten in football

Following a fumble recovery, the Hawks moved the ball 57 yards and scored again when Stinar connected with Kyle Keating for a 16-yard score. The Hawks (1-1, 2-3) then went for two and got it on Stinar's conversion pass to Schmidt.

Havre de Grace had built its 14-point lead with two first half scores. Jordan Lynam caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Jack Eberhardt and Jordan Hawthorne ripped off a 74-yard touchdown run. Hawthorne finished with 86 yards on six carries. Josh Penn led the Warriors with 97 yards on three carries. Shawn Cardwell added 65 yards on 21 carries.

Hawthorne also added both extra point kicks for Havre de Grace. Kodi Rupe, Luke Enerson and Jack Smith had 10 tackles each and Ray Green added nine.

Bobcats pound Panthers

Bel Air (2-0, 5-0) celebrated homecoming with a 42-12 Chesapeake Division win over Perryville.

Devin Bowers had a huge night for the Bobcats, rushing for 227 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Jack Lewis added 108 yards on nine carries. Quarterback Daniel Webber was 4-for-6 passing for 59 yards and a touchdown. He was also intercepted once.

Brad Casale, Webber, Lewis and Jimmy Nicol also scored touchdowns for Bel Air. Kicker Jay Zorzi also kicked six extra points.

The Bobcats defense created five turnovers, one interception by Brendan Yetter and fumble recoveries by Sean-Tyler Allen, Dylan Robinson, Casale and Yetter.

Jared Daeschner led the defense with seven tackles, while Yetter and Josh Huggins had six apiece.

Tech beats Joppatowne

Harford Tech (1-0, 2-3) opened Susquehanna play with an 34-0 shutout of visiting Joppatowne.

The Cobras Darnell Pink intercepted the Mariners on the opening drive and Tech followed it with a 59-yard, seven-play drive, capped by an Elijah Minter 31-yard touchdown run. Kyle Lannen made the PAT and Tech  led, 7-0, after the first quarter.

The Cobras added two more scores in the first half to lead, 21-0, at the half. Derick Logan scored on a two-yard run and Minter took it from 40 yards out to score his second touchdown on the night.

Ullic Young-Briscoe kept the momentum going for the Cobras, taking the second half kickoff back 85 yards for a touchdown.

The Cobras final points came on a 36-yard run by Marcus Clifton. Lannen added three more PATs and was 4-of-5 on the night. Joppatowne is 1-1 in league and 1-4 overall.

Shawn Johnson rushed for 82 yards on 26 carries to lead Joppatowne and Justin Norman added 49 yards on four carries. Quarterback Kenny Baroch completed 4-of-20 passes for 62 yards.

Johnson also led the defense with 10 tackles and a forced fumble. Armando Rivera recovered the fumble. Kendre Stanley and Khalil Beasely had six tackles each.

Mustangs beat Huskies

C. Milton Wright (1-1, 3-2) beat host Patterson Mill (1-1, 3-2), 20-6, in Chesapeake play.

The CMW offensive line of Tanner Page, Danny Murphy, Michael Poorbaugh, Bowen Tillet and RJ Bonsall, propelled the Mustangs to 485 yards rushing. They created running lanes for Andrew Frailer (214 yards rushing, one touchdown) and Omar Walker (174 yards rushing, one touchdown).

Walker also threw for 123 yards and a score and finished with 297 yards of total offense.

Frailer compiled his yards on 18 carries.

On the defensive side of the ball, Frailer led with 21 tackles from his linebacker spot and fellow linebackers Jaedon Stevens and Cody Fuller, each had 12. The defensive line, led by Vinny Harris, Rodney Dillon, Poorbaugh and Kurt Leader, was able to hold the Patterson Mill offense to 150 total yards.

Patterson Mill quarterback Jordan Reid finished 9-for-15 for 76 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Welch had five catches for 49 yards and the score.

Trey Hall led the Huskies defense with 25 tackles (three for loss), a forced fumble and a pass defense. Devlin Hagan added 11 tackles (one for loss) and Ethan Mills had eight tackles (one for loss).

Rams fall

In non-league action, Edgewood (1-4) lost, 41-14, to visiting St. Mary's Ryken. The Rams fell behind, 26-0, by halftime and didn't score until the fourth quarter.

Kahlil Copes-Jones had both Edgewood touchdowns, both on pass receptions. He caught one from Darian Summerville (6-for-9, 40 yards) and the other from Myron Williams (1-for-1, 17 yards).

No Edgewood ball carrier rushed for more then nine yards. The Rams totaled just 32 yards on 21 carries.

Marquis Borja was 2-for-2 on extra-point kicks.

Isaiah Ritchie led the defense with nine tackles. Amari Jones and Isaiah Myers added six tackles each. Borja and Cafaris Whitley had a fumble recovery each and Tavaughn Buie added two sacks.

Patriots lose late

John Carroll (0-1, 2-3) lost its Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference opener at St. Paul's on Friday, 22-21.

St. Paul's scored the winning touchdown and key two-point conversion with 1:38 remaining in the game.

Twice the Patriots tied the game in the first half and were tied 14 all at halftime. Kurt Rawlings ran 11 yards for the first score and Malik Tyne scored on a five-yard run. It was a Rawlings 75-yard scoring jaunt that put the Patriots ahead, 21-14, through three quarters.
