Havre de Grace deals Aberdeen a loss in UCBAC football

The UCBAC no longer has an undefeated football team. The Havre de Grace Warriors saw to that in an impressive, 27-0, win at previously unbeaten Aberdeen in Chesapeake (upper) Division play Friday night.

The Warriors used the pass to score. Quarterback Jack Eberhardt was four-for-four on the drive. Josh Penn caught a 14-yard pass and Harris hauled in a 16-yard catch two plays later. A facemask penalty against Aberdeen set up the Warriors with first and goal at the Aberdeen 10.

Eberhardt (eight-for-13, 87 yards, two touchdowns) passed a yard to Jordan Lynam on first down and then went back to Lynam in the back of the end zone for the nine-yard score. Hawthorne, who kicked the first extra-point, was blocked on this one. Havre de Grace led, 13-0, with 5:31 left in the third quarter.

Late in the quarter, Penn set up the Warriors again, returning a punt 60 yards to the Aberdeen 30. A 16-yard pass to Hawthorne gave the Warriors first and goal from the 10. On fourth and goal from that spot, Eberhardt tossed 10 yards to Harris for a 19-0 lead.

The two-point conversion was denied, but less than two minutes later, Havre de Grace was posting the exclamation point.
