A 48-year-old man was taken to a hospital Saturday afternoon after suffering an eye injury while welding in downtown Havre de Grace, the city's Ambulance Corps reported.
City emergency medical officials responded to the 300 block of Strawberry Lane at 4:57 p.m. for a report of a flash burn from welding, Ambulance Corps spokesman Mark Hemler said.
The man was taken by ambulance to Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, he said.
Hemler did not know how the incident occurred or how seriously the man was injured.
He did not know if the man lived at the Strawberry Lane address.
