Fallston needs strokes to beat North Harford in field hockey

Fallston and host North Harford matched up in an important UCBAC Chesapeake Division field hockey game Friday that needed strokes before a winner could be decided.

Winning the strokes, 3-2, Fallston (2-1 league, 4-6-1 overall) edged North Harford (3-1-1, 6-4-1), 4-3.

North Harford took a 1-0 lead into the half, as Sarah Jackson scored on a penalty corner 8:35 into the game.

Fallston tied the score early in the second half as freshman Sophia Delvecchio scored her first high school goal with an assist from Liz Hebert.

Fallston's Hannah Sample converted the first stroke and Davis notched her second goal of the day, scoring the Hawks first stroke.

Taylor Molite scored for Fallston and Gabby Karr for North Harford to keep the strokes even at two.

Karlie Abbott converted the winning stroke and goalie Caitlin Phillips followed up with two saves to seal the win.

Phillips finished with eight saves and Sylar Limpert had nine.

Huskies blank Panthers

Patterson Mill (2-2-1, 4-6-1) shut out host Perryville, 2-0, Friday in Chesapeake play.

Linnea Gonzales scored for the Huskies, assisted by Hailey Horton and Maggie Egan added an unassisted goal.

Huskies goalie Grace Baltimore made nine saves.

Other Friday scores

Edgewood (5-2, 5-4) blanked visiting Havre de Grace (2-5, 2-8), 4-0, in Susquehanna play. Also in Susquehanna play, Joppatowne (0-6, 0-8) lost to visiting Rising Sun, 8-0.

Cobras beat Eagles

Harford Tech (3-3, 4-4-1) beat host Aberdeen (1-4, 1-8), 3-1, Thursday in Susquehanna play, despite trailing, 1-0, at the half.

Tech's scoring was handled by Meagan Sturla, Courtney Hill and Courtney Poole, each with one goal. Assists were credited to Abigail Rossman, Imani Perkins and Brittany Mullen-Kapustensky.

Cobras goalie Jessie Clancy had two saves.
