No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a home on Fallston's Beechwood Lane Sunday afternoon, rescue officials reported.
The blaze was reported in the 2900 block of Beechwood Lane, off Harford Road just south of Route 152, at about 12:58 p.m. and quickly drew several fire companies, according to the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association.
The fire, discovered by a passerby, caused $500,000 worth of damage to the ranch-style home, according to a notice of investigation.
Photos of the site posted by fire officials on social media showed the home consumed by flames and a thick plume of smoke billowing in the air.
The command requested additional resources to the scene, including a second tanker strike team, according to the posts.
It took 75 firefighters from across Harford and Baltimore counties about an hour to control and units were expected to be on the scene "for an extended period," according to the Association and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The fire officials brought in about 30 pieces of apparatus for the incident, according to the Association.
Fire officials were also being stationed at Fallston Mall, according to the Association's report.
Bel Air and Joppa-Magnolia fire companies assisted with the incident, according to their posts on social media.
The cause remains under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal, according to the Association.
