More generous donations this week have continued to fill the Empty Stocking Fund, as the Harford County based charity works to help more than 300 Harford County families and senior citizens in need have a happier holiday season.
Among the most recent donations is $10,000 from Darrel A. Cooper Estate.
Mr. Cooper was a longtime generous supporter of the Empty Stocking Fund and many other worthy Harford County charities, as well as his church, St. Paul's Lutheran of Aberdeen. The longtime resident of Harford County died last Feb. 27 at the age of 95.
Mr. Cooper's gift helps to bring Empty Stocking Fund donations this season to $54,700, closer to the annual goal of $80,000.
Other donations were received this week from William and Joan Dorn, $100; Barbara Ensor, $250; Bette Yanky, $100; Ron and Lynda Kerdasha, $150; Charles F. Ramsay, Jr, $100; and Bruce Sidell, $500.
The Empty Stocking Fund continues to receive donations of all kinds of new toys and books.
Special thanks to the Wagner Family for the toys and several new bikes they delivered to Santa's Workshop.
New toys and books can still be dropped off at many businesses around the county.
Eleven Harford County Public Library locations are also toy drop-off locations: Abingdon, Bel Air, Fallston, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Jarrettsville, Joppa, Edgewood, Whiteford, Darlington, and Norrisville Branch, along with the HCPL Administrative offices in Belcamp.
