A Baltimore man was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of stab wounds sustained during what police say may have been a robbery attempt on an Edgewood street early Wednesday morning. A companion also was stabbed.
At approximately 2:40 am, deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff's Office responded to the 800 block of Windstream Way for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they located two victims, Norvin Jones, 33, of Baltimore, and Shomare Anderson, 23, of Edgewood.
Jones was suffering from multiple stab wounds to the torso, while Anderson had minor injuries to his hand and arms, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
Medics from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company treated both victims at the scene, and Jones was subsequently airlifted by Maryland State Police Medevac to Shock Trauma, where he was listed in critical condition late Wednesday afternoon.
"Preliminary information gathered at the scene indicates the victims were approached by two black male suspects who demanded property," the news release states. "A struggle ensued, and the victims were injured. "
There are no further details being released at this time, as the investigation continues, the Sheriff's Office said.
