Edgewood man, 32, accused of raping, beating woman at gunpoint

An Edgewood man allegedly beat and raped a woman he knew at gunpoint, then injected her with drugs in his garage earlier this week, according to police charging documents.

Police were called to Harford Memorial Hospital Monday at about 10:30 p.m. in response to the incident.

The victim, 33, told police she went to visit Jamarr Antonio Carter, 32, in the 1700 block of Crimson Tree Way, with one of her friends, and her friend had sex with Carter, according to the charging documents and the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

After that, Carter questioned the victim about sex, after which he allegedly punched her in the face and displayed a handgun, pointing it at her head, according to charging documents.

He allegedly raped her and hit her in the head with the gun, causing her to lose consciousness, according to the documents.

The victim said that when she regained consciousness, Carter allegedly was injecting her with a syringe full of an unknown substance. The victim's friend later told her the substance allegedly was a mixture of cocaine and heroin, according to the statement of charges.

The victim told police Carter did not allow her to leave the garage all day and allegedly stole two cell phones, money and her prescription Percocet, according to police.

The victim selected Carter as the alleged rapist from a photographic array presented by police, according to charging documents. Police were told he stays at various locations in Edgewood.

Carter is charged with first-degree rape, false imprisonment, using a firearm in a violent crime, first- and second-degree assault, administering drugs during a violent crime and third-degree sex offense, according to online court records.

He is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center, according to online court records.
