After 22 years in Hickory, Dawn Wise has moved her Country Britches Consignment Shop to 113 S. Main St., the former site of Flowers by Design, which closed after Christmas.
The store's grand opening at its new location is Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Door prizes will be given away, items will be on sale, refreshments will be served and customers will have a chance to win a Michael Kors red wristlet – through Saturday get a raffle ticket for every $5 spent in the store.
During a town commissioners and staff work session Tuesday, Economic Development Director Trish Heindenreich and other officials said they are happy to have Wise and her already well-known business in downtown Bel Air.
The store offers a wide array of name brand and very gently worn clothing for ladies, children and men; many items arrive brand new with tags. They also consign and sell jewelry, designer purses and shoes, as well as home decor, bedding and furniture, specialty toys and baby equipment.
Vendors also sell unique and creative items in the store such as shabby chic furniture, pallet furniture, glassware, lamps, embroidered items, candles, pillows, jewelry and re-purposed pieces, among others. New consignors and vendors are always welcome.
Store hours are Monday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
