Three of 26 Harford County businesses licensed to sell alcoholic beverages failed an underage compliance test on Monday.
The 23 businesses that passed the test, did so by not serving the underage person working undercover, a 19-year-old woman who is a student at Harford Community College, Chief Inspector Charlie Robbins told Harford County Liquor Control Board members at their meeting Wednesday. That's an 88 percent pass rate, he said.
"It's not 100 percent, but it's still good," Robbins said Thursday. "I'm trying."
None of the three servers who served the underage student asked for proof of age. Each was issued a criminal citation charging them with selling or providing an alcoholic beverage to someone younger than 21.
The servers who allegedly served the minor were Matias Galvan at Italian Sensations in Bel Air, Lauren Pomraning at Red Lobster in Bel Air and Leilei Zhang at Toki Sushi in Forest Hill.
Businesses that passed the test included Box Hill Pizzeria and Bushmill Tavern in Abingdon; Fallston Liquors; Chopstix and Fisherman's Catch in Forest Hill; Hickory Lodge and Liquor Stop in Hickory; Khodiyar 7-Eleven on Baltimore Pike, Buffalo Wild Wings, Greenbrier Wine & Spirits, Orient Restaurant, La Tolteca-Bel Air, Looney's Pub North, MaGerk's Pub in Bel Air; Maria D's Bistro, Freddie's Fine Wines, Mountain Road Deli in Joppa; Perryman Grocery in Perryman; Pool N' Pints in Aberdeen; and Keshar Bhavani 7-Eleven at Edgewood and Willoughby Beach roads, Giovanni's, Edgewood Liquors and Woodbridge Liquors in Edgewood.
