Goodwill Industries opens new retail store in Edgewood

Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake opened a new retail store and donation center Thursday at 1841 Pulaski Highway in Edgewood.The new store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Donations are accepted Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.Following Thursday's ribbon cutting ceremony, the store began a special grand opening promotion through Sunday in which customers can enter to win a smart TV or Kindle Fire.The Edgewood location is Goodwill's fourth retail store in Harford County, joining Aberdeen, Bel Air and Churchville locations. The new store is expected to create at least 16 jobs in the community, according to Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake.In addition to shopping for quality items at low prices, area residents will also be able to donate unwanted clothing and household items at the location. With the Edgewood store opening, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake operates 27 retail stores, two outlets and 34 attended donation centers.&quot;Edgewood is the perfect location for a Goodwill store,&quot; said Lisa Rusyniak, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. &quot;We're very excited to open a new location in Harford County and we know that our shoppers will appreciate fantastic quality at low prices.&quot;&quot;Our retail stores fund our job training and placement programs to help people find jobs.&quot; Rusyniak continued. &quot;This is made possible through the support of the community.&quot;By donating and shopping at Goodwill, consumers fund job training and placement programs for those with disabilities or other barriers to employment, the organization noted in a news release.
