North Harford tops CMW 3-1 in Thursday boys volleyball play

The North Harford boys volleyball team knocked off visiting rival C. Milton Wright Thursday, handing the Mustangs a 3-1 match defeat.

North Harford took the match's first game, 25-18, then jumped to a 2-1 lead with a 25-19 win in the second meeting. The Mustangs were able to force a fourth game by winning the third, 25-18, but the Hawks then slammed the door with a 25-21 victory.

North Harford's Jake Knox served up 11 aces, while Jake Burghauser led the winning side with six kills.

Bel Air over Aberdeen

The Bel Air Bobcats took a 3-1 victory over visiting Aberdeen in a Thursday matchup.

Bel Air took the first game, 25-7, then saw the guests rally to even the match with a 27-25 victory. In the third game, the Bobcats took a narrow 25-23 victory, then sealed up the match with a 25-13 win in the fourth game.

Bel Air's Gavin Hanley had nine kills and six assists, while teammate Josh Bavis had eight kills, eight assists and two aces. Joe Caudill led Bel Air with 30 assists, while also putting up nine blocks and five aces. Brady Grimes had 25 assists in the victory.
