Tuesday was a good day for five boys soccer teams, with each posted playoff wins in region games played in Harford and Cecil counties.
Bel Air and C. Milton Wright were winners in Class 3A North-Section II semifinal play, while Fallston and Patterson Mill were winners in 2A East-Section I semifinals. In 1A South-Section I, Havre de Grace was also a winner.
Bel Air's win, by 2-0 count, came over visiting North Harford in a game that was scoreless with 10 minutes left to play. John-Allen McKinney changed that at the 9:40 mark.
McKinney took a pass from Alex Munley right in front of the goal. McKinney controlled the ball with his left foot and then lifted a high shot that glanced off the hand of Hawks goalie Andrew Klapka and into the net.
"It fell right to my foot and I put it in," McKinney said of his second goal of the season.
The Bobcats (11-2-1) added an insurance goal five minutes later. Zach Memmo took a feed from JD Bruck and lofted a shot just over the head and hands of Klapka.
The Hawks (6-9) only had a few scoring chances. Cameron Brosh saw a pair of shots sail high, the first late in the first half and the second off a cross from TJ O'Donnell midway through the second half.
The Hawks also had a direct kick from just outside the box, but it went harmlessly wide with 8:25 to play.
Garrett Lorenz earned the win in goal, making one save, while Klapka finished with six saves.
The Bobcats will host CMW at 3 p.m. Friday in the section final.
CMW (12-2-2) blanked visiting Patapsco, 3-0. Stats were not provided.
