CMW, Fallston boys get Friday soccer playoff wins

All three boys soccer playoff games on Friday involving Harford County teams were shut-outs – Harford teams won two of them.

Two of the three games were in Class 3A North-Section II quarterfinal play.

C. Milton Wright (11-2-2) was a 5-0 winner over visiting Dundalk, while Edgewood (4-10) lost 3-0 at Patapsco. CMW will host Patapsco in Tuesday's section semifinal.

Fallston (8-5) was a 5-0 winner over visiting North East in Class 2A East-Section I quarterfinal play. The Cougars will visit Rising Sun at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the section semifinal.

Thursday action

Boys soccer teams from Patterson Mill and North Harford were both winners Thursday as the region playoffs got under way for a few Harford County teams.

Patterson Mill's (10-5) win came over visiting Harford Tech (5-10), 4-1, in Class 2A East-Section I quarterfinal action, while North Harford (6-8) knocked off host Aberdeen (4-8-2), 2-1, in Class 3A North-Section II quarterfinal play.

In Patterson Mill's win, goals were scored by Ben Adams, Pat Kiley, Kyle Brocki and Larson Green. Green's goal was his 17th of the season, tying the school record for goals in a season.

Assists were tallied by Kyle Goudy and Jake Ross. Huskies goalie Kevin Neumann made three saves.

In North Harford's win, Mick Green and TJ O'Donnell scored goals; Green also had an assist, as did Kyle Munson.

North Harford goalie Andrew Klapka recorded eight saves.

Patterson Mill will play at Elkton in Tuesday's section semifinals, while North Harford will visit Bel Air.
