Harford Christian takes 11th straight boys soccer shutout Friday

The Harford Christian Eagles (12-0) scored their 11th straight shutout Friday, beating host Granite Baptist, 5-0, in a MACSAC matchup.

Jared Lanchak and Seth McCarty each had two goals in the win, while Ian Edwards scored once.

Alex Caldwell registered a pair of assists, while Ben Weaver and Noah Akers each had one assist.

Harford Tech over Rising Sun

Harford Tech (4-3 overall, 3-1 Susquehanna) knocked off visiting Rising Sun, 2-1, in a Friday contest.

Trailing, 1-0, in the match's 68th minute, the hosts saw Vinnie Iannucci come through with the equalizer, which he scored with an assist from Jeremy Brown.

Nine minutes later, Iannucci scored the game-winning goal, this one with a helper from Jordan Mike.

Harford Tech goalie Adam Bednarek had nine saves.

North Harford, Fallston tie

The North Harford Hawks and Fallston Cougars have seen a lot of overtime and a lot of tied games this boys soccer season, and Thursday offered no respite from that trend, as the two sides, playing on Fallston's field, ended their matchup tied, 1-1.

Together, the two teams have seen seven draws in 17 combined regular-season games so far. North Harford has been to overtime five times in nine contests, beating John Carroll and settling for ties in the rest of the games.

The draw left the Cougars at 5-0-3 overall and 1-0-3 in Chesapeake (upper) Division play, while North Harford moved to 3-2-4 overall and 0-1-3 against upper-division opponents.

North Harford's goal was scored by Cameron Brosch.

Hawk goalie Andrew Klapka notched five saves.

Because of the inclement weather that overtook Harford County on Monday, the Archbishop Curley at C. Milton Wright contest that was supposed to start at 5:30 p.m. was postponed. No makeup date had been announced as of press time.
