The Aberdeen boys soccer team opened its season Monday with a win at Edgewood. The Eagles beat the Rams, 2-1, with all scoring in the first half.
Duane Keller netted both Aberdeen goals, with Juan Soriano and Chris Felts providing assists.
Aberdeen goalie Anthony Cuellar registered 10 saves. Edgewood stats were not provided.
North Harford also played Monday, but lost 2-0 at Rising Sun.
The Tigers scored a goal in each half. Hawks goalie Andrew Klapka made 11 saves.
Huskies win tourney
Patterson Mill won the Blue Division of the Minuteman Classic at Patapsco High School Saturday, defeating Dundalk, 2-1, and then Patapsco in the finals, 3-1.
The Huskies were led on the day by Larson Green, who scored two goals. Caleb Hebb, Noah Holloway and Will Papageorgopoulos each scored one. Dishing out assists were Jake Ross (three), Hebb and Kyle McCollum.
Goalies Kevin Neumann (12 saves) and Chris Giba (one save) both saw time in the nets.
Mustangs win twice
C. Milton Wright won the Bel Air Tournament behind a pair of 3-0 wins over Dulaney and Eastern Tech.
In the Dulaney win, Corey Alt and Seth Walter tallied goals, while the other came on a Dulaney own goal. Steven Cantor and Evan Lomis added assists and freshman goalie Ryan Miller notched eight saves.
Against Eastern, Alt scored twice and Cantor once, all unassisted. Miller had two saves.
Bel Air beat Eastern Tech, 2-0, and tied Hereford, 0-0, in Saturday's tourney. No details were provided.
At Havre de Grace's tourney, North Harford fell 1-0 to Bethesda-Chevy Chase and 3-1 to Havre de Grace. Havre de Grace lost to Westminster, 2-0. No other details were provided.
Harford Tech picked up an opening season win Friday at Joppatowne, 2-1, while North Harford blanked visiting Hereford, 1-0, and Patterson Mill won 3-1 at Rising Sun.
In Tech's win, Joppatowne's Andrew Harney put the Mariners ahead with an unassisted goal in the 37th minute of the first half.
Tech answered with a pair of goals, some nine minutes apart. Steven Chapman scored with assist from Mark Maust on an corner kick four minutes into the second half.
Maust the netted the game-winner unassisted.
Tech keeper Adam Bednarek had seven saves and Joppatowne goalie Austin Kocsan made five saves.
Hawks In North Harford's win, Mick Green scored the game's only goal unassisted.
Hawks goalie Andrew Klapka finished with five saves.
Huskies win, too
In Patterson Mill's win, goals were scored for the Huskies by Chris Jones, Will Papageorgopoulos and Patrick Kiley. Assists were tallied by Jones, Caleb Hebb and Larsen Green.
Huskies keeper Kevin Neumann made seven saves.
