Six Harford County boys lacrosse teams went into region playoff action Wednesday and four advanced to play in the next round Friday.
Patterson Mill moved on in Class 1A-2A play, as did Bel Air in 3A-4A action. Both Aberdeen and North Harford advanced in 2A-3A play.
Patterson Mill (7-8) jumped ahead on Blake Tallon's unassisted goal in the first two minutes of play and rolled from there, beating visiting Joppatowne, 19-8, in 1A-2A South Section I play.
The Huskies added two more goals, one from Luke Sharretts and the other from Noah Holloway, before Joppatowne was able to get on the scoreboard on Chumani Johnson's first of three goals. Johnson won the face-off and went straight to the goal from there.
The Mariners also scored the next time they won a face-off but by then, Patterson Mill had scored another three goals, two by Sharretts and another by Tallon.
The Huskies added two more scores in the final 1:30 of the opening quarter to lead, 8-2.
Patterson Mill scored three more goals in the second quarter to one for the Mariners, for an 11-3 lead at halftime.
Joppatowne (4-8) scored three times in the third quarter, but Patterson Mill countered with five. The Huskies also had an advantage in the final quarter, 3-2.
Sharretts and Holloway led the winners with four goals apiece. Brendan Bandy added three goals, while Tallon, Isaiah Welch and Dean Gonzales each sent two into the net. Rudy Beck and Matt Berger chipped in with a goal each.
Berger also had three assists and Holloway had two. Single assists were credited to Matt Troutman, Chris Jones, Bandy, Gonzales, Welch, Beck, Tallon and Sharretts.
Austin Kocsan joined Chumani Johnson in scoring three goals for the Mariners, who also got single goals from Josh Jahn and Shawn Johnson.
Patterson Mill goalie Will DeVinney made six saves, before giving way to Sebastian Snyder, who made two. Mariners goalie Adam Reynolds finished with eight saves.
The Huskies will play at Fallston Friday.
Bobcats crush Parkville
Bel Air (10-4) was an easy winner in 3A-4A South, section I action Wednesday. The Bobcats led host Parkville, 21-0, at half and won, 28-0.
Garrett Utz scored four goals to pace 17 Bobcats in the scoring column. Tom Pfeiffer and Dave Lotz scored three goals each. Carter Hoffman had five assists among the 19 assists on the Bobcats 28 goals.
The Bobcats played three goalies. Chris Hagy and Tamar Reese both had two saves and Evan Sordilla had one save.
Bel Air will play at top seed Franklin on Friday.
Eagles advance
Aberdeen (4-9) advanced in 2A-3A North, section II play by defeating host Patapsco, 11-7.
Kyle Sampson led the way for the Eagles with four goals and two assists. Ethan Mauzy and Matt Merchant added three goals apiece and Devin Beatty tallied one.
Duane Keller dished out three assists and Danny Geary had two. Aberdeen goalie Luke Whittie made 12 saves and Rocko Hillhouse won 14-of-20 face-offs.
Aberdeen will play at Rising Sun on Friday.
Hawks blank Dundalk
North Harford(8-7) had no trouble with visiting Dundalk in 2A-3A North, section II play Wednesday, cruising to a lopsided 21-0 win.
Evan Siegel and Glen Doering scored four goals each to guide the Hawks offensively, while Clayton Hood netted three goals.
TJ O'Donnell and Kyle Mansberger added two goals each, and single goals were scored by Brett Hurley, Thomas Dolinar, Kyle Keating, JT Kidd, Ethan Johnson and Jacob Linkous.
Dolinar led the winners with three assists and Siegel had two. Single assists were credited to Hood, Mic Green, Chandler Schmidt and Luke Cordell.
Siegel also scooped up 17 ground balls. Hawks goalies posted no saves.
North Harford will play at top seed C. Milton Wright on Friday.
Rams knocked out
Also in 2A-3A North, section II, Edgewood (1-12) was eliminated from the playoffs with an 19-2 loss at Rising Sun.
