With regular season play done, the regional playoff draw was held Monday and six Harford boys lacrosse teams will play today (Wednesday) in section quarterfinal play.
In 1A-2A South Section I, Joppatowne will visit Patterson Mill at 5:30 p.m. today. The winner will play at Fallston on Friday in semifinal play.
Harford Tech will play at Havre de Grace on Friday in another semifinal.
In 2A-3A North Section II, North Harford will host Dundalk at 5 p.m. today. The winner plays at C. Milton Wright on Friday.
Aberdeen will play at Patapsco at 5:15 p.m. today and Edgewood will play at Rising Sun at 5 p.m. today. Winners will meet Friday.
In 3A-4A South Section I, Bel Air will play at Parkville today at a time to be announced.
Cougars, Cobras are champs
Boys lacrosse teams from Fallston and Harford Tech each concluded UCBAC division championship seasons with unbeaten records Friday.
Fallston (6-0 league, 12-2 overall) beat visiting North Harford (1-5, 7-7), 16-7, in Chesapeake play. The Cougars led 13-4 at the half.
Fallston's scoring was led by Dylan Wolf's five goals and Nick Esser's four goals. Matt Wollenweber added three goals and Ben Claffee scored two. Ryan Buckler and Justin Williams had single goals.
Williams added three assists. Kyle McKeever, Ben Claffee, Joe Maranto, Garrett Krug, Esser and Wollenweber had an assist each.
Jacob Linkous, Brett Hurley and Glenn Doering had two goals apiece to pace the Hawks, and Clayton Hood scored one goal.
Linkous, Hurley, Evan Siegel and Luke Cordell had assists.
Fallston played two goalies, with Liam Wilcox making four saves and Matt Claffee making eight. Hawks keeper Cameron Brosh had 11 saves.
Cobras beat Panthers
Harford Tech (7-0, 9-5) hosted Perryville Friday afternoon in the continuation of the suspended Susquehanna game from April 20.There was 9:47 remaining in the game with the score tied at 7 when lightning stopped play.
The final minutes were hard fought and the Cobras finally found the net, scoring with about 2:30 left on a goal by Steven Mills, assisted by Griffin Pfarr. It was the only goal scored, giving the Cobras the 8-7 win.
The complete game stats included a goal and assist for Brandon Winand; an assist for Justin Steen; one goal and two assists for Pfarr; one goal for Nick Letts; one goal for Cole McGuirk and four goals for Mills.
Goalie Chris Stallings recorded 15 saves and defender Trevor Crehan contributed five takeaways. Defender Ethan Bulger added two takeaways.
Warriors beat Bobcats
Havre de Grace (4-2, 12-2) defeated host Bel Air (4-2, 9-4), 10-9, Friday night in Chesapeake play, spoiling senior night for 22 seniors and the rest of the Bobcats.
The Havre de Grace win, the first over Bel Air in many years, if not possibly the first ever, was keyed by the outstanding play at face-off byWarriors senior Chris Parrott. The lone face-off man for the Warriors in the game, Parrott won 17-of-22 and added five ground balls.
The Warriors got solid goalie play from Jacob Laubner with 17 saves, while Colin Dean continued his scoring success with six goals and an assist. He also had four ground balls.
Jordan Hawthorne had a good game for the Warriors with six ground balls and one goal. Casey Brown added three assists and six ground balls. Kyle Barkley was also outstanding, collecting a career-high three assists to go along with three ground balls and two takeaways.
Long stick middie Sonny Smith tallied his first career goal after a very tough ground ball and a second assist by Jacob Sweigart.
Parrot and Nick Burley added single goals for the Warriors. The Warriors also got game-saving defensive play from Brett Wilson, Kevin Vickery, Robert Surette, Sonny Smith, Sean Greeley,Luke Smith and Joey Stone.
Mustangs beat Indians
C. Milton Wright (4-2, 10-5) closed out Chesapeake play with a 15-10 win over visiting North East on Friday.
Jacob Smucker scored four goals to lead the Mustangs, while Cade Dail, Nick Kramer, Michael Logan and Grady DiPeso scored two goals each. Kenneth Watts, Ian Ziemski and Robert Elliott added single goals.
CMWassists were credited to DiPeso, Brad Martin and Kurt Leader.
CMW played two goalies, with Philip Venanzimaking eight saves and Josh Weaver making two.
The game was tied 5-5 at half.
