The Fallston boys lacrosse team was the lone Monday winner in Harford County, visiting and beating Towson, 17-5, in non-league play. The Cougars (7-1) led 12-3 at half.
Fallston scoring was led by Ben Claffee's four goals. Tommy Bracken and Nick Esser added three goals each and Matt Wollenweber scored two. Ryan Buckler, Sam Gold, Dylan Wolf, Garrett Krug and Zach Labbe had single goals.
AJ Bosse led Towson with two goals.
Wolf added four assists, while Andrew Stump and Justin Williams had two apiece. Claffee, Gold, Esser and Zach Roberts also had assists.
Fallston played three goalies. Liam Wilcox had six saves, Matt Claffee had five and Matt Petraglia had two.
Huskies lose
Patterson Mill (3-6) was beaten 14-4 by visiting Hereford in non-league play Monday. The Huskies trailed 13-3 at halftime.
Noah Holloway scored three goals and Isaiah Welch scored one. Rudy Beck had an assist.
Patterson Mill goalie Will Devinney had 13 saves.
Cobras fall
Harford Tech (4-4) fell to visiting Franklin, 17-2, Monday in non-league play.
The Cobras were unable to mount an attack throughout the evening.Both Tech goals were scored by Steven Mills. Franklin dominated play in their offensive half of the field, allowing the Cobras to get off just 10 shots for the evening.
Cobra goalies posted 21 saves for the game, 16 by Chris Stallings and five by Adam Smith.
Warriors win CMW tourney again
Havre de Grace won the C. Milton Wright Tournament for the second straight year on Saturday, defeating Tuscarora, 12-2, in the opening round and the host CMW Mustangs, 12-9, in the championship game.
In the final, Havre de Grace handled CMW's pressure defense early, jumping out to an 4-1 lead. The Warriors never trailed and after a short tie at 6, led 7-6 at the half.
Havre de Grace (7-1) shut the Mustangs out in the third quarter and held an 9-6 lead going into the fourth.
CMW made a strong run in the final quarter, but it was too little, too late.
Colin Dean scored five goals and Casey Brown added two goals and four assists. Brett Wilson chipped in with two goals, while Chris Parrott and Nick Burley each had a goal and two assists. Kyle Barkley also had a goal.
CMW scoring stats were not provided.
Parrott, Barkley and Sonny Smith led with five ground balls apiece. Goalie Jacob Laubner had 13 saves and Parrott won 17 face-offs.
In the win opening win over Tuscarora, Brown led with six goals and an assist and Dean added two goals and three assists. Jordan Hawthorne had two goals and two assists and Burley finished with a goal and assist. Trent Reynolds scored a goal as well.
Sonny Smith and Parrott had eight ground balls each and Parrott had 10 face-off wins. Laubner had three wins in goal.
CMW (6-2) opened with a 19-5 win over Harford Tech, while Tech beat Tuscarora, 12-3, in the consolation. Stats were not provided.
Cougars win own tourney
Fallston won its own event, the annual Fred Sheckells Tournament on Saturday, beating Hereford, 10-7, and Northern-Calvert, 13-4.
In the title win over Northern, Nick Esser scored five goals to pace the Cougars. Ben Claffee netted three goals and Dylan Wolf scored two. Justin Williams, Matt Wollenweber and Brad Smith added single goals.
Wolf also had four assists, while single assists were credited to Kyle McKeever, Williams and Stump.
Michael Vaeth scored twice to lead Northern.
Cougars goalie Liam Wilcox had six saves, while Northern played two keepers with Patrick Ruleman and Michael Reeder both making seven saves.
In the Hereford win, Fallston pulled away in the second half after gong to the half in a 5-5 tie.
Esser and Wollenweber scored three goals apiece for Fallston, while Williams scored two. Claffee and Stump added single goals.
Claffee and McKeever added two assists each.
Ben Bittner, Neil Lavietes and Matt Lewis scored two goals apiece for Hereford and Tim Popowski added one.
Wilcox had four saves for the Cougars, while Brody Bartell and Austin Williams both saw time in the Hereford goal with six saves each.
Bobcats split in Scoop Kelly tourney
Bel Air (3-3) split its two games in hosting the Scoop Kelly Memorial Tournament Saturday. The Bobcats were beaten by Whitman, 8-6, but defeated Quince Orchard, 12-8.
In the Whitman loss, Tom Pfeiffer scored four goals to lead the Bobcats, who led 4-3 at half. Garrett Utz and Brad Casale had single goals. Utz, Dave Lotz and Jack Lewis had assists.
Bobcats goalie Gavin Hanley made four saves.
In the Quince Orchard win, Utz scored five times, while Casale and Jason Dinsmore added two goals each.
Hanley made five saves, before giving way to Chris Hagy who made three saves.
Huskies get win
In Thursday action, Patterson Mill defeated host Catonsville, 9-3, in a non-league game. The Huskies led 6-2 at the half.
Noah Hollaway scored five goals to lead the Huskies and Drew Novad added three goals. Luke Sharretts also had a goal.
Blake Tallon and Rudy Beck had two assists each, while Hollaway and Chris Jones each had one.
Huskies goalie Will DeVinney made seven saves.
