Fallston, Patterson Mill in win column for Wednesday boys lacrosse

The Fallston boys lacrosse team highlighted Wednesday's play, hosting and beating Perry Hall, 17-3, in non-league play. The win evened the Cougars record at 1-1.

Dylan Wolf led the Fallston scoring with three goals and three assists. Ryan Buckler, Justin Williams, Nick Esser, Matt Wollenweber and Andrew Stump scored two goals apiece, while single goals were scored by Kyle McKeever, Ben Claffe, Jake Lippa and Garrett Krug.

Ben Claffee dished out four assists, while Esser and Wollenweber had one assist each.

Jack Muller scored twice for Perry Hall and Brooks Overtoom scored once. Muller also had an assist.

Fallston played two goalies with Matt Claffee making two saves and Matt Petraglia making one.

Perry Hall keeper Caden Rites finished with 11 saves. Fallston led at the half, 12-2.

Huskies beat Patriots

Patterson Mill saw its first action of the season on Wednesday and the Huskies claimed victory, edging Old Mill, 9-8. The game was tied at 4 at the half.

Noah Holloway scored four goals to pace the Huskies, while Isaiah Welch and Drew Novad netted two goals apiece. Luke Sharretts had the other goal.

Sharretts also had two assists, while Holloway and Rudy Beck had one apiece.

Huskies goalie Will DeVinney finished with 17 saves.

Other scores

In two other games played Wednesday, North Harford beat visiting Aberdeen, 14-2, and Joppatowne beat visiting Edgewood, 17-6. Stats were not reported for either game.

Bobcats win opener

The Bel Air boys lacrosse team saw its first game action of the new season Tuesday and in the process, posted a win, beating visiting Spalding, 9-7. The Bobcats led at the half, 6-4.

Brad Casale led the Bobcats with four goals and two assists. Tom Pfeiffer and Garett Utz found the nets twice each and Hunter Jewitt scored once.

Utz added two assists, while Austin Tredinnick and Dave Lotz had one assist apiece.

Bel Air goalie Gavin Hanley finished with nine saves.

Mustangs edge Bulls

C. Milton Wright (2-1) edged host Hereford, 6-5, Tuesday in non-league action. The game was tied at four at halftime.

Michael Logan scored twice to pace the Mustangs, while single goals were scored by Cade Dail, Dominic Venanzi, Ken Watts and Andrew Mastromanolis. Jacob Smucker and Logan added assists.

CMW goalie Philip Venanzi finished with seven saves.

Warriors win big

Havre de Grace (2-0) put up big points for the second straight night Tuesday, beating visiting Elkton, 17-0, in a non-division game.

The Warriors scored early and often, building a 5-0 lead before the game was four minutes old. Colin Dean scored the first two and finished with three goals. Dean also assisted on five others.

Casey Brown got into the scoring midway through the first quarter, but ended his night with a team-best five goals. Nick Burley added three goals and an assist, while Chris Parrot (two assists) and Trent Reynolds netted two goals apiece.

Kyle Barkley and Jordan Hawthorne also had goals, while Jacob Sweigart and Sonny Smith added assists.

Brett Wilson and Smith led with six ground balls apiece. Goalie Jacob Laubner made six saves.

Elkton keeper Brad Astfalk had seven saves.
