Patterson Mill, Edgewood, Tech get boys hoop wins

Boys basketball teams Patterson Mill, Edgewood and Harford Tech each opened their seasons Friday with wins, while Fallston won its second game in as many days, also winning Thursday.

Patterson Mill's win came at North East, 74-36. The Huskies led, 38-22, at the half.

Dajuan Madden scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and added four assists for the Huskies, while C.J. Keyser had 21 points and eight rebounds. Alex Hollingshead chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds and Malik Bonds added six points and seven assists. Rahmon Felder aided the win with nine points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Rams drop Bobcats

Edgewood picked up its win by beating visiting Bel Air, 61-31.

Roderick Harrison scored 15 points to pace the Rams and Keyon Williams also reached double figures with 10 points. Kevin Ringgold and Immanuel Gladden-Stokes added nine points each for the Rams.

Edgewood's lopsided win was aided by Bel Air being limited to just one point in the second quarter.

Cougars beat Warriors

Fallston's second win came at Havre de Grace, where the Cougars topped the Warriors, 68-48.

Kyle Tyree had the hot hand, scoring 21 points for the Cougars and Owen West added 13 points.

North Harford, which also won Thursday, was looking for win number two at Harford Tech, but the Cobras had other ideas. Tech won, 51-37, despite trailing, 22-16, at the half. "They wanted it more and it showed. We executed poorly," Hawks head coach Jeff Burrows said.

Brett Hurley had 10 points to lead the Hawks in the loss and Andrew Klapka had nine.

Cougars, Hawks open with wins

The winter season opened Thursday evening as Fallston and North Harford each started with a victory in boys basketball.

Fallston beat Hereford, 65-58. Gus Makres led the way for the Cougars, scoring 13 points and having four assists. Zach Roberts scored 12 in the win while Jordan and Travis Greenwood each scored 10. Kyle Tyree scored 10 and had eight rebounds.

North Harford built a 13-point halftime lead over Harford Christian and won, 54-40. The Hawks led by as many as 25 in the second half.

Twelve players scored for North Harford. Nic Hammer had 15 points, seven rebounds and 3 assists. Zach Stike had 8 points. Ryan Feiss, Andrew Langan and Brett Hurley each scored six. Hurley also had five rebounds. Collin Keating had 3 assists.
