Four Harford County boys basketball teams kept their seasons alive Wednesday, as regional play finally returned to the courts.
C. Milton Wright, Harford Tech, Joppatowne and Havre de Grace came away winners, while three others Harford teams saw their seasons end.
At Fountain Green, host CMW (20-1) kept its magical season rolling, dealing Aberdeen (12-11) a 68-51 defeat.
CMW's Mychal Stefanides poured in 26 points for the winners, and Corey Bays added 12 points and eight rebounds. Will Hazelton finished with eight points, five steals and nine assists.
Jayden Saddler and Jaleel Gibson scored 10 points each to pace the Eagles.
CMW will host Dundalk in the next round. Dundalk ended Edgewood's season, beating the Rams, 82-58. The Rams finished their season at 12-9.
Warriors, Mariners win big
At Havre de Grace, the Warriors posted an 86-50 win over Kent County in Class 1A East play.
Five Warriors hit double figures in scoring, led by Krs Yancy's 18. Jordan Hawthorne added 15 points, while Zayrron Blake and Josh Penn each scored 14. Blake completed the double-double with 17 rebounds. Terrell Surrette added 12 points.
At Joppatowne, the Mariners were also easy 1A East winners, beating Colonel Richardson, 80-52.
Like the Warriors, the Mariners had five players in double figures scoring, led by Jermaine Head Jr.'s 20 points.
Rayquan Demby added 13 points, while Jacoby Bruce added 11. Fortune Okeigweigh and Rashard Gore added 10 points apiece. Okeigweigh had eight rebounds and Head, Jr. had five steals.
Havre de Grace (20-3) will play at Joppatowne (17-4) in the next round.
Cobras beat Tigers
Harford Tech (16-7) moved on in 2A East, beating visiting Rising Sun, 57-44.
The Cobras jumped ahead early, 11-2, and despite a couple Rising Sun runs, never trailed.
The Cobras led 34-22 at half, but saw the lead shrink to five, twice in the second half. Tech then rebounded to pull away with the 13-point win.
Darius Dangerfield scored 19 points to lead the Cobras, who also got 18 points from Fred Gordon and 13 points from Hunter Norcross.
Will Farmington led the Tigers with nine points.
Tech will host Elkton in the next round. The Elks defeated host Patterson Mill (8-12), 67-59. Stats were not provided.
