The Maryland State Police Homicide Division is investigating the discovery of a body Tuesday in an area just off Interstate 95 north in the Bradshaw area of Baltimore County, near the Harford County line.
The body initially was identified as that of a white male, MSP spokesperson Sgt. Marc Black said.
The body was found around noon in a wooded area off a small service road on the east side of the highway, which is near the Bradshaw Road overpass and between the Route 43 White Marsh and Route 152 Fallston-Joppa exits, Black said.
The body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy, Black said. As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, the body had not been identified.
The police investigation, which cordoned off an area along the right-hand side of the highway, tied up northbound traffic between Baltimore and Harford counties throughout the afternoon.
State Police said Investigators are contacting area police departments as well as those in other states in an attempt to identify the victim.
Information has been communicated to police departments throughout the region and requests have been made to check missing person files for potential persons matching the currently available information, according an MSP news release.
