Outdoor movies return to Bel Air's Shamrock Park for the summer starting Friday

The popular outdoor summer movies series returns this week to Shamrock Park in Bel Air, where six family-friendly movies are scheduled throughout the summer, beginning Friday night, with the showing of the popular Pixar animated film, "Finding Nemo."

Six times a year the community comes together to watch the movies under the stars.

Bel Air Downtown Alliance's Outdoor Movies Series, sponsored by People's Bank, is the time and place to bring the family for a fun and free movie night at Shamrock Park with pre-movie entertainment provided by the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission. Movies are not only free and family friendly (rated PG), they also come with free popcorn, sponsored by Harford Day School.

Families can start setting up at 6:30 p.m. in Shamrock Park, where the movies will be shown on a large screen set up on the band shell. Movies begin just after sunset.

The following is the summer movie schedule:

June 12:"Finding Nemo,"sponsored by Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, withentertainment provided by Uncle Pete.

June 26:"Paddington," sponsored by Sylvan Learning Center, of Bel Air, with entertainment provided by Up With Kids.

July 10:"The Boxtrolls,"sponsored by Advanced Eye Care, with entertainment provided by the Ryan-Kilcoyne School Irish Dancing.

July 24:"Big Hero 6," sponsored by Kinda Jerky Really Nutty, with entertainment provided by Extreme Family Entertainment (magician).

Aug. 21:"The Incredibles,"sponsored by the Bel Air Athletic Club, with entertainment provided by Tae Kwon Do Masters.

Aug. 28:"Cinderella,"sponsored by Premier Chiropractic, with entertainment provided by vocalist Becky Titleman.

Movies are shown weather permitting.In the case of bad weather, they will be canceled and not rescheduled.
