Two Eagle Scouts honored by Bel Air town commissioners

Two Eagle Scouts from different troops were honored earlier this week by the Bel Air Board of Town Commissioners for achieving Scouting's highest rank.Recognitions for Colin Tridone, of Troop 877, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bradshaw, and Daniel Wesdock, of Troop 238, in Hickory came during Mayor Susan Burdette's &quot;favorite part&quot; of the town meeting on Monday night at Town Hall.&quot;We applaud and admire the dedication and commitment you have displayed to your community, Harford County and most of all, Scouting,&quot; Burdette read from proclamations presented to each scout. &quot;It is that same dedication and commitment which established you as a leader among our youth and the holding of a position to which all young men and women should aspire.&quot;For his Eagle project, Tridone, who brought his father, also an Eagle Scout, his mother and grandmother to Monday's meeting, installed a bench behind Deer Creek Friends Meetinghouse in Darlington.&quot;It's a place of reflection and a place of peace,&quot; Tridone told the commissioners.It was installed on a muddy, rainy, cold day in December, he said, with a &quot;tremendous showing&quot; of help from family and friends, who helped him get most of the work done in one day.Becoming an Eagle Scout, he said, is his greatest accomplishment.Wesdock, too, said his Eagle Scout project is one of the most rewarding things he's ever done.&quot;To see my peers, friends and family come together to work on a project I spent so much time planning – it was a huge relief when it was done. I don't think I've ever been so stressed out,&quot; he said.For his project, Wesdock installed a 35-foot aluminum flagpole and three Trex benches at the Harford County Equestrian Center on Tollgate Road.He spent many years at the Equestrian Center, both at the weeklong Cub Scout summer camp, which his mom was director of for two years, and at the Harford County Farm Fair. Wesdock's mom, dad, also an Eagle Scout, and younger sister were at Monday's meeting.Burdette, who made sure both Scouts introduced their families, urged them to come back to a meeting another time.&quot;Or someday in the future maybe become a town commissioner,&quot; she said.
