Strong-arm robbery suspect arrested near Bel Air Wednesday morning

An Edgewood man was arrested for allegedly committing a strong-arm robbery against a woman in Bel Air on Wednesday morning, the Bel Air Police Department reported.

The suspect, Gregory Eric Wallace, 46, allegedly took the woman's purse in the 400 block of East MacPhail Road at about 10:10 a.m., BAPD Sgt. Jim Lockard said.

The victim and suspect knew each other, he said. They were in a car together on MacPhail Road and the ensuing tussle involved the suspect allegedly pulling the woman out of the car, Lockard said.

Wallace's car was found at Route 22 and Prospect Mill Road a short time later, he said.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene, Lockard said.

Wallace was still being processed at the Bel Air Police Department Wednesday afternoon. According to Lockard, pending charges include armed robbery, second-degree assault and theft.
