Maryland comptroller honors Bel Air Police Department

The Bel Air Police Department has received a Certificate of Recognition for services it provides to the community from the Maryland state comptroller.

Comptroller Peter Franchot visited the BAPD Monday to present a proclamation to Interim Chief Jack Meckley.

Franchot personally thanked the officers for their dedication and commitment to the community and citizens and visitors of Bel Air. Meckley added,

"I'm extremely proud of the work the officers have done during my time as the interim chief and especially proud that their work is being recognized at the state level," Meckley said in a statement.

Gathered for the presentation with Meckley and Franchot were Town Administrator Jesse Bane, Harford County Council President Dick Slutzky, Harford Register of Wills Derek Hopkins, Bel Air Town Commissioner Susan Burdette and BAPD Sgt. Henry Marchesani and Cpl. Sergio D'Alto.
