Both teams had an opportunity in the second to strike first. Patterson Mill had a runner on third with no outs and couldn't score. Queen Anne's put runners at second and third with no outs and couldn't score either.

The Lions punched through in the bottom of third. The unearned run came across on two singles and two Patterson Mill errors.

Patterson Mill got on the scoreboard in the fourth, with a pair of runs to take the lead. Benson started the rally with a one-out single. Jeff Noss doubled in Todd Campo, a courtesy runner for Benson, to tie the game at one. Nick Cress then singled to score Noss.

The Huskies broke the game open in the fifth with five runs. Steve Spencer led off with a single and Jacob Michael had a 10-pitch at bat and earned a walk. Kyle Goudy laid down a sacrifice bunt, but all runners were safe when Queen Anne's bobbled the ball.

"Billy Benson gave us an outstanding effort today after throwing a shutout on Tuesday," Huskies coach Matt Roseland said. "On short rest, he was around the plate, got the big strikeout when needed and battled. Very proud of our boys to bring back a regional championship. Their whole focus was to bring back a winning tradition to Patterson Mill baseball and I'm happy for them that their commitment is paying off."

Benson finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Noss was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs.
