An Aberdeen man was charged after he was hit by a car on Route 40 Monday afternoon in the city.
Richard Elberson, 30, of the 600 block of Colaine Drive, was crossing North Philadelphia Boulevard around 10:30 a.m. when he walked into the side of a Chevy Malibu, driven by Desiree Robinson of Fort Drum, N.Y., the Aberdeen Police Department said.
Elberson, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken by a Medevac, which landed at Festival Park, to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to Aberdeen Police; he has since been discharged.
Aberdeen police determined Elberson was at fault in the accident and was cited for unsafe crossing and failure to yield to a vehicle.
Robinson and a passenger in her car were not injured.
