Try to take these last few days before Christmas and remember what the season is about. Take a lesson from the Greco family of Bel Air, who have been spreading kindness throughout the community all month. Or follow the lead of Havre de Grace Police Department Ofc. Jarid Coleman, the school resource officer at Havre de Grace Elementary, who made one 10-year-old boy’s Christmas a whole lot bright just by fixing his beat-up bike.
They don’t have to be big gestures — just try and do one nice thing for someone. It’s amazing how good you’ll feel.
As you gather together with loved ones this holiday weekend, remember those who aren’t with us, for whatever reason. Perhaps they’ve passed on or perhaps the’re serving our country overseas — regardless of the reason, their absence leaves a hole in our hearts at a time when so many people come together. Say an extra prayer for them.
But most of all, be thankful for the family you’re with and take care of one another.
