Harford Community College to host College Promise Info Night on Feb. 6

Harford Community College is holding a College Promise Info Night on Thursday, Feb. 6 in Edgewood Hall, Room 132 at 7 p.m.

A bill signed by Gov. Larry Hogan in 2018 aimed to make college more affordable for residents by allocating $15 million per year in need based tuition aid for eligible students. In the fall, the state awarded scholarships to more than 1,200 students, the first round of the so-called college promise scholarships.

Despite talk about the program and free college, many people who were eligible have not applied for aid, according to a news release from HCC.

The College Promise Info Night at HCC will have staff on hand to help attendees sort through resources, eligibility and the application process, with plenty of time for a question and answer session. The event is open to parents, students and community members.
