Harford County Farm Bureau awards scholarships

Harford County Farm Bureau has awarded two scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year to students enrolled in an agriculturally related field and who are members of a Farm Bureau family. Each received a $1,000 scholarship.

William Romney McGuirk of Bel Air is majoring in Agricultural Science at Virginia Tech. Sarah Grace Stauffer of Forest Hill is completing her studies, majoring in Animal Science, at the University of Findlay in Ohio.


Harford County Farm Bureau also administers the Harford County 4-H Memorial Scholarship Fund, which receives donations from the community and from the sale of animals at the annual 4-H Livestock Auction held during the Harford County Farm Fair. This scholarship fund is used to recognize graduating high school seniors who have been involved in the 4-H program. Two $1,000 scholarships were awarded.

Hannah Amelia Burgess of Jarrettsville graduated from North Harford High School and will be attending Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, majoring in Nutrition & Dietetics. William Romney McGuirk of Bel Air graduated from St. Paul’s School and will be attending Virginia Tech, majoring in Agricultural Science.
