Hundreds of people turned out to attend the Veterans Day Parade on Thursday in Havre de Grace to honor those who served in the U.S. military.
After years of marking the holiday with a wreath-laying ceremony, American Legion Post 47 brought back the parade in 2019.
“It’s a great way to honor veterans,” said Jason Robertson, American Legion 47 first vice commander and parade organizer. “We are excited that everyone is coming together.”
Robertson said the parade was a way to distinguish Veteran’s Day from Memorial Day, which features a wreath laying.
This year, the parade featured a couple of decommissioned military vehicles as well as a Jeep group out of Bulle Rock carrying veterans and representatives from local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, Robertson said.
