Harford sheriff’s office searching for suspect in armed robbery of Sheetz in Joppa

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who allegedly stole cigarettes from the Sheetz on Route 40 in Joppa over the weekend.

Deputies responded at approximately 2:20 a.m. Saturday to the Sheetz convenience store in the 600 block of Pulaski Highway for the report of an armed robbery, according to a news release. There, deputies were told a man had approached the clerk of the store and demanded cigarettes, intimating that he had a weapon.

The clerk complied with the demands and gave the man an undisclosed amount of cigarettes, which he left with. No injuries were reported, according to the release.

The sheriff’s office encourages anyone with information about the alleged robbery to call the detective investigating the crime at 443-409-3154 or call Harford Crime Solvers at 1-888-540-8477. Those who submit information to Harford Crime Solvers leading to an arrest and indictment could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, the release states. The tip line is also anonymous.
