Harford sheriff’s office investigating fatal Joppatowne crash

A Joppa man died in a car crash late Wednesday, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday.

At approximately 10:01 p.m. on Wednesday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Falconer Road in the area of Red Haven Court in Joppatowne where they found a 2016 Toyota RAV4 overturned in the northbound lane of Falconer Road.

The vehicle’s sole occupant, Aman Singh Sihota, 58 of Joppa, was declared dead at the scene.

Preliminary information suggests Sihota was traveling southbound on Falconer Road when his car struck the curb and spun off the road and into tree before overturning and stopping in the northbound lane, the office reported. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The investigation is active and ongoing, the office reported, but it is believed that “speed was a factor,” police said. No further information is being released.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information on the incident to contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit at 443-409-3324.
