Local business owners in Bel Air hosted Deck the Paws events during the holidays to raise funds for the Humane Society of Harford County.
For the last seven years, Route 24 Ale House’s owners, Jason and Katie Davis, challenged their fellow business owners to host the event to raise funds for the care and comfort of homeless animals.
“I want to extend my gratitude not just to Jason and Katie and all the generous businesses, but also to the folks who bought a raffle ticket, dropped their spare change in a donation jar, or bought a ticket to an event,” said Humane Society of Harford County Executive Director Bob Citrullo in a news release. “Deck the Paws is a mighty example of what we can achieve if we all work together to make an impact.”
In 2022, 20 business owners raised $11,272 during the event, according to the news release.
“Deck the Paws is such a great way for local businesses like ours to give back,” said Katie Davis. “Jason and I consider our pets to be family, and we do this every year so that other lucky families can experience the joy of pet adoption.”
