Suspect sought in Abingdon bank robbery

Detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division are seeking a suspect in connection with a bank robbery Thursday afternoon in Abingdon.

Deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct responded to the M&T Bank branch on Boxridge Drive shortly after 4 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Deputies were told a man approached the teller, passed a note implying he had a weapon and demanded money. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

Officials said the man has a medium build and was wearing a dark mask, sunglasses, dark gloves and a yellow construction vest.

Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the scene to collect and preserve physical evidence.The investigation is continuing and no further details were available as of noon Friday, according to Kyle Andersen of the sheriff’s office.
