The cause of an Aberdeen house fire that caused $50,000 in damages is under investigation, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported Friday.
At around 12:41 a.m. Friday, firefighters were called to a one story home on the 3600 block of Churchville Road in Aberdeen for the dwelling fire, the office said, that was discovered by the home’s owner.
The Aberdeen Fire Department — the primary responding agency — was able to control the blaze in 20 minutes, the office reported.
The fire appears to have started in the basement kitchenette area, the office reported, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Nobody was reported hurt or injured, the office stated.
