One killed, another injured in crash on I-95 in Harford County on Monday

One person was killed and another was injured in a crash on Interstate 95 in Harford County on Monday, Maryland State Police said Tuesday.

Troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash on southbound I-95 in Joppatowne just after 5 p.m. Police said that a Toyota, driven by Brian Matthew Connors, 42, rear-ended a Jeep, causing both vehicles to overturn.

Connors was partially ejected from the sun roof, police said. The Glenwood man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, identified as Pamela Anne Flanagan, 54, of Baltimore, was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Police said a preliminary investigation shows alcohol might have impaired Connors’ driving ability.

The right lanes were closed for much of the night, creating as much as a 4-mile delay, before being reopened around 10 p.m., according to the MDTA.
