A man was shot in his chest Sunday night in Aberdeen, police said.
Aberdeen police were called 8:40 p.m. to the shooting on the 200 block of Angus Drive.
The man was alert and conscious when hospitalized. Police did not release his age and said they continue to search for his shooter.
Aberdeen Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Will Reiber said Monday the victim was in critical but stable condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. the man, who is in his 50s, was shot from outside his house as he was seated inside, Reiber said. There was no forced entry.
Police have a description of a suspect, he said, and don't believe the attack was random. The suspect is described as white, about 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and was wearing a white T-shirt and kahki shorts.
Reiber said police are still looking into a possible motive for the shooting. "Obviously, we have an armed man loose in our community right now," he added.
The neighborhood, bordered by Route 22 and Route 40, consists mostly of ranch style houses.
