Sports reporter Tom Worgo interviews Francis Scott Key wrestler Brett Rinehart. (Tom Worgo / Carroll County Times)
How did you get into wrestling?
"My dad got me into it when I was about four or five. He was a wrestling coach. I love the workouts and staying on the mat. After the first year, I stuck with it and it's been my life. There's nothing else I would rather do."
What has been the highlight of your career?
"Winning the [FSK] Jeff Yingling Tournament. That was a goal I set my sophomore year. I took third in my sophomore and junior year. My goal was to get first. I wrote it down on a piece of paper, hung it on my room and looked at it every day. I accomplished that goal [this year]."
"I will watch a video of my match a couple of times to see what I did wrong and see what I need to work on."
What do you do to get focused and amped up for a match?
"I wear a lot of layers, about 10 to 12 up top and a pair of shorts. It's something to keep me loose. I listen to country music before a match. I don't think about anything else. I just think about wrestling."
"I want to work for Evapco, which is a heating and ventilation business outside Taneytown. Some of my family's farms use big heating and ventilation units. It's a good business to get into to and something my family is based around. I want to carry on the tradition."
